RECONYX™ motion activated cameras have been the choice of wildlife researchers and biologists worldwide since 2002. RECONYX™ has adapted this technology for portable security use with the introduction of the HyperFire™ SM750 license plate capture camera. This license plate camera utilizes our NoGlow™ covert infrared illuminator for unobtrusive surveillance. Additional features include a loop recording mode and scheduled activation by time of day or day of week (weekday and weekend operation can be different).
The HyperFire™ license plate camera now has an even longer battery life using 12 AA size batteries, enabling the camera to run continuously up to one year. HyperFire™ surveillance cameras also utilize Secure Digital memory cards to capture 720p high definition images at speeds as fast as 3 frames per second. The built-in Ultra HD IR camera lens provides crisp daytime images, and provides infrared images that are sharper and clearer than ever before.

This camera works amazingly well. It is designed to capture license plates so do not expect it to do much else in the dark. The day time captures are able amazingly clear. I am a police detective and we use these cameras in a multitude of different ways ranging from damage to property cases to construction site theft. They are easy to deploy once you figure out the height and angle needed for clear images. In less than a years time these cameras have built 3 cases that have resulted in search warrants being executed and charges brought to suspects. I would recommend the armored boxes and a cable lock.
Gate Security and Driveway Security
These are great quality and picture resolution. Bought 3 of these and plan to buy more in future. If you want to get plates, and that is not easy to do, these are the solution. I highly recommend.
Camera placement takes time
Actual set up with regards to camera placement takes time, to review the pictures after each time we move the camera to get exactly what is needed. Especially if you use the covert system to hide the camera.
Functions very well
I have several of these sm750 license plate cameras. All function very well, have no false triggers (must be careful what you point it at-no brush or sunlight). All the plates are clearly visible in day or night mode, never missed one. I use them in the overwrite mode, so they run continuously and always have the last couple months of events. The success with this camera is reading the manual and setting it up properly and selecting the right location to aim it. I have caught several thiefs on my property and have "witnessed" things going on back there that I did not know about. Plates identify people thru vehicle registration. I would rather have a path to identity thru a plate number, than a pix of a stranger that nobody knows anything about. These are great, first class cameras. The reconyx engineers are on top of their game.
