The demand for high-definition video surveillance video is growing. Nothing compares to the video quality of true HD megapixel video. HD-SDI technology enables HD analog cameras to deliver image quality that is far superior to traditional analog CCTV and provides a cost-effective video surveillance option that's easy to install and integrate with existing CCTV systems.
If You Want Better Resolution
If you need higher quality images than analog CCTV without running an IP network, HD-SDI (also known as HD analog) is the answer. HD analog delivers very detailed, high-definition images with no compression artifacts or transmission-related delays.

If You Want To Manage Costs
Compared with network IP systems, HD-SDI reduces costs by using existing coaxial infrastructure. If you have additional budget constraints, hybrid HD-SDI systems allow you to use existing analog CCTV equipment, and provide the ability to add HD analog cameras as you need them.
If You Want Ease of Use
HD analog means no network issues, no IT departments, no trouble with network components, and no hassle with sharing data networks. Operating in a networked environment is challenging — HD-SDI allows you to install high definition solutions using existing installation skills.

Unparalleled Resolution
HD-SDI is the only high resolution video surveillance camera connection technology that delivers uncompressed, HDTV-compliant, TV broadcast quality signals in live video viewing.
Use Existing Cabling
In most cases, you can install an HD analog system using your existing coax (RG/59, RG/6 and RG/11) cables without an adapter.
Zero Latency
The HD-SDI video feed travels on its own line with no compression and produces no latency (time delay). In live video mode, HD-SDI is smoother than analog and IP, with no skipping or image distortion.
Ease of Installation
With an HD-SDI DVR, you don't need a networking or IT background in order to install the system. It features plug-and-play connectivity that's as easy to set up as standard analog CCTV systems.
Ease of Use
With an HD analog system, the user interface is the same for the operator or installer as a CCTV interface, so no additional training is necessary to operate the system.
Upgrade For Less
HD-SDI systems allow you to use existing cabling, don't require a network infrastructure, and use less bandwidth, so you will save on cabling, installation and operational costs.

What to Look For When Considering HD-SDI
HD-SDI DVRs
HD-SDI – Compatible with HD-SDI cameras only. You cannot plug traditional analog CCTV cameras into an HD-SDI system unless it is a hybrid system.
HD-SDI Hybrid – Allows both HD-SDI cameras and standard analog CCTV cameras to be connected. Check to see if the DVR is a hybrid model with both HD and analog inputs.
HD-SDI Cameras
With an HD-SDI DVR and cameras, you can send HD video on existing coaxial cable (RG/59, RG/6 and RG/11) without an adapter.
HD-SDI cameras require no camera boot-up time: they are point-to-point and plug-and-play. Just like a standard analog CCTV system.
