Looking to upgrade your system, but not quite ready to jump from analog to a full IP solution? This 8-camera, 16-channel security camera system that supports multiple camera technologies–analog, HD-TVI, and IP cameras–may be the one for you.
The 16-channel DVR has an IP camera finder tool that allows you to find, configure, and connect to a compatible 1080p IP camera. Note: DVR supports a single compatible 1080p IP camera.
With the lite real-time recording feature (960 x 1080), you can set the recording resolution for each camera and achieve up to 1080p lite video at 30fps per channel.
When used with 960H analog cameras, this DVR offers both 960H high-resolution live viewing and recording (33% more detail than standard D1 DVRs).
The DVR features a powerful, intuitive user interface with a host of smart features, including:
This DVR will accept any analog, HD-TVI, and ONVIF IP cameras. You can also combine camera technologies to meet your surveillance needs. For example:
Compatible IP camera will appear on the web browser and smart phone app.
This system includes a 2TB hard drive for video storage, with a maximum capacity of 16TB.
This DVR supports H.264 and H.264+ that help reduce file size, maximize recording time, and save hard drive space.
Along with delivering HD-resolution video, HD-TVI technology can send zero-latency HD video over RG59 coax, or any standard analog shielded CCTV cabling up to 1600 feet.
Free Guarding Expert iOS and Android mobile app delivers convenient remote viewing of live and recorded video.
Included in this system are eight 2.1 megapixel HD-TVI outdoor dome security cameras, with the option to add up to eight more as the need arises. These cameras produce up to 1920 x 1080 (1080p) full-HD video and feature a 3.6 mm wide angle lens with a 90° Field of View (FOV) to cover large areas. A 1/2.7″ progressive-scan CMOS image sensor delivers 2.1 megapixel resolution.
HD-TVI technology delivers zero latency HD video over RG59 coax or any standard analog CCTV cabling up to 1600’.
This camera offers Smart IR technology that reduces overexposure of the IR LEDs at the center of the image and is equipped with an integrated IR array that enables it to see up to 65′ in the dark without washing out the subject at closer ranges.
With convenient on-screen display (OSD) control of settings over coax cabling, you can eliminate the need for a separate cable.
This outdoor camera also features an extreme -40°F ~ 140°F operating temperature range, and an IP66 weather-rated housing that provides protection from the elements, including dust and sand, as well as rain and snow.

Pretty decent system
Overall pleased with this system - it's on par with similar 2.1 Amcrest systems that I've installed and slightly better than Swann.
The app and system firmware is nearly identical to a Swann TVI system as I'd expect - customizable enough for a DVR-based system of this class & price point. Similarly, the camera quality is what you would expect in this price range (e.g. Hikvision quality)
Typical cons: the cameras in this system are never really 90 deg FOV (at least I've never seen this) as advertised and of course, don't expect the 65 foot IR range at night to be very good quality.
Bottom line, this is a good investment for a first camera system for a residential unit or small business that does not have much money to spend. I like that it has 16 channels for future expansion - most in this price range tap out at 8 channels. I found the sales support lady to be incredibly helpful with a couple of missing cameras from the order, so I can speak to the vendor's integrity on that part at least.
Final advice: the cameras are smaller in size that your typical Dahua or Hikvision, so the smaller footprint, while helpful, also seems to mean a few less IRs. As is often the case, it is helpful to install this type of system with either supplemental IRs or with perimeter lighting.
