Make an investment in IP with the Solstice™ mini embedded network video recorder. This compact, standalone NVR accepts IP cameras and analog cameras through an encoder and comes pre-installed with powerful video management software that allows you to control your cameras and secure your environment. Watch your video from anywhere via the free Android and iOS smartphone app.
The Solstice mini NVR is ideal for a range of surveillance applications, from residential to law enforcement:
The SLS-ENVR16 is capable of multi-streaming (record at one rate and watch it an another rate). For example, you could record the video at a high frame rate but watch video at a lower rate for faster transmission. No additional IP licensing fees or recurring annual license fees are required to use the NVR; use as many channels as you want for no additional cost.
You can also select your own security-grade hard drive (2TB, 3TB, 4TB or 6TB), for hours of convenient video storage.
The Solstice mini NVR features a compact form factor, quiet operation, and low power consumption. The browser-based user interface is easy to use and requires no client software to be installed. All you need to access the Solstice NVR is any Java-enabled web browser such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Apple Safari. The web-based software automatically detects the language preference in your browser and adjusts your viewing experience based on your configuration. The NVR is specifically designed to be easy to set up and operate thanks to its intuitive UI which features user-friendly drag-and-drop controls.
Type the IP address into your supported web browser and log in to see live images or recorded video from your IP cameras. Just a few mouse clicks away are statistics of recorded videos and other events for a selected date and time and the interface for playing and exporting the recordings. Unique digital pan/tilt/zoom controls and intelligent bandwidth control* are available both in live view and playback. (* must be supported by the camera)
The top panel of the UI shows all of the installed and available network IP cameras and other supported devices, up to a total of 16 cameras. The layout of the user interface can be easily customized by each user with a simple drag-and-drop action. Move, swap or change the cameras in any way and at any time you choose. Besides the live view or recorded video, you can view information about the system as well as each camera.
When viewing a camera, the screen also displays real-time information about the current view, such as resolution, stream and frames per second. Zoom into the picture by dragging the mouse over the area you want to bring closer. If the stream is set up on "auto" mode, the NVR always chooses the appropriate stream according to the current window size. Simply double click on the camera view to go to the full-screen view.
If you choose a PTZ camera, the joystick panel on the UI becomes active so that you can control the camera's movements. Pre-configured user buttons can control the electrical input and output to any external device, such as light bulbs, servers, or any other device. Simply open a new window on the user interface to manage more cameras on a second monitor at the same time.
To watch recorded video, simply switch the camera window to the recordings view with a button click. On the timeline at the bottom of the UI, select the date and time of the recording you want to watch. The timeline helps you to understand what kind of action triggered the recording and the time of that action. It's easy to export recorded video to an AVI file and save it to a computer.
The Solstice NVR simplifies installation with features such as automatic network discovery, automated setting of IP addresses, strong password generation, and a configuration wizard. The reliable Linux-based operating system is resistant to viruses, spyware, and malware. The unit minimizes the impact of power outages as it automatically boots and starts recording after a power failure.

Record and playback works beautifully
I do like the ease of setup and use of the program and hardware. Installation of the Hardware was a snap, The Software is Windows only for Finding the Device and setup. But after initial setup is run, you can use any browser there after (Chrome is fussy, the rest work nice).
The one downfall to the product, is support for a majority of our cameras is minimal. We have some slightly dated Axis cameras, and the software will pull the feed in just fine to view and record. However the Motion tracking and triggering does not work properly (No driver support for our model). Otherwise, if you are looking to straight record and playback it works beautifully. Viewable on Mac, PC, and iPads/tablets.
