Flexible system offers many possibilities for use
The DVRM6W is a really flexible system. If you use it in a house, or in a vehicle, or both... the size and alarm contact in/outs give this unit a lot of possibilities.
There are two really great features about this DVR. First, the included CMS software allows you to view and to control several DVRs at the same time. Also available is a free iPhone and Android app. There are almost as many features of the CMS software as there are of the DVR. Every day I discover another cool feature of the CMS software.
Second, the DVRM6W has a USB port on the back of it, for connection of a Sprint Aircard. This is mostly designed for mobile use for live, real time, remote viewing of the DVR in a vehicle. However, it can also be used in a remote fixed site where you may not have internet access, or in a location where your IT department doesn't look kindly on people hooking up things to their network.
The video compression on this unit is quite good, pushing the video down small enough to stream over a 3G device. If you're expecting HD video or license plate recognition, this isn't the unit for you. However, if you want a unit that can be used in a bait car, delivery truck, remote cabin, pole cam or remote weather station, and you want to watch all of those unit all at the same time from a single software package, give this unit a look.
