Overview

This outdoor digital day/night bullet camera has been modified so that it will pick up infrared light, even 940 nm. Pair it with infrared illuminators to see in total darkness. This camera features DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) and WDR (Wide Dynamic Range). DNR reduces the static that is common with video signals. WDR is intended to provide clear images under back light conditions where intensity of illumination can vary. The Ingress Protection rating for this outdoor camera is IP67, meaning it is totally protected against dust and may be immersed in water. It operates on 12 Vdc and is 2.16 in (depth) x 0.75 in (diameter).

Comes with a 1-year warranty and 30-day money-back guarantee.

Cameras are good. If I could do it all over again, I might have purchased different types of cameras. I need more up close observation, while keeping the widest view. It would be nice in the future to have an adjustable bullet camera (adjustable focus and distancing).

[STAFF REVIEW]

For years, selecting a camera (especially a small camera) was all about trade off. Do you want low light, or sharp color? Finally, the technology has caught up to where you don't have to make those tradeoffs.

The PC338 is a high res color camera with an excellent low light b/w mode. The modification to see 940nm opens up its light gathering to the point of almost matching a pure b/w camera. The cost on this camera is also excellent when put against other high res color cameras.

On the downside, the colors can appear a little washed out due to the cut filter being removed, and a day/night camera will never be as good in low light as a pure black and white camera will be. If the PC338 is going to be used in daytime only, I’d use a color only camera, so that way the colors are more true.

Great camera, but I have to buy extra lenses. 3 mm lenses don't get good facial shots. I'm replacing all of my older color cameras with these types, that can see IR. (940 and 850 nm.)
