960H Viewing and Recording – View and record high-resolution video. 960H recording resolution ensures high quality, high-resolution video for live-viewing and recording. The 960H image sensor can increase a DVR’s recording resolution by approximately 30% to produce sharper, more detailed recorded video than standard D1 DVRs.
HDMI Output – Enhanced image clarity. HDMI supports standard, enhanced or HD video. This DVR features an HDMI output which delivers enhanced image clarity with crisp images and enables you to view your security camera video in HD on your HDTV screen. HD images can be reproduced with the HDMI support for HD display.
H.264 Video Compression. Maximize recording time and reduce file size. H.264 enables the transmission of higher-quality images at the same rate as MPEG4, but H.264 has a higher compression ratio than MPEG4, and can reduce bandwidth and storage usage, keeping file sizes small and manageable.
Free iOS/Android App – View your video remotely from anywhere. Enjoy convenient remote access from your iOS or Android device with our FREE BlackHawk mobile app. You can monitor your security system from anywhere—at any time.
Free Dynamic Domain Name Service (DDNS) – Convenient DVR registration. Dynamic DNS provides easy registration of your DVR, allowing you to locate your DVR on the internet through the client software without requiring a static IP address, and ensuring you never lose access to your security system.
Network Time Protocol (NTP) – Accurate time synchronization. This feature enables you to synchronize your DVR with a remote time server over the Internet to automatically update your DVR to the most accurate time and ensure your DVR is automatically updated for DST.
Multiple Recording Modes – This DVR features multiple recording modes: continuous, alarm, schedule and motion detection to maximize your video recording capabilities and provide recording options that are right for your security application.
Schedule Recording – Record at a scheduled time. The DVR will record video on specific days and time ranges specified by the user. For example, you may set recording to occur between 9 am and 5 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Motion Detection – Record only when motion is detected. The DVR’s motion detection feature allows you to pre-define zones for each camera and program the DVR to start recording when motion is detected within the zone, saving hard drive space and reducing the amount of recorded video. This feature also enables you to get alerted by alarm and email when there is an incident.
Continuous Recording – Record uninterrupted video. The DVR will record continuous video for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Pre/Post Alarm Recording – Alarm triggered recording. Alarm contacts for pre/post alarm recording enable the DVR to constantly save a pre-defined length of buffered video, and only record that video when motion is detected and an alarm is triggered. This feature typically works in combination with your motion detection feature — and is especially powerful when defining a smaller motion detection zone within your camera’s field of view.

I like the multi-view remote viewing function.
Easy to set-up!
This unit has time and time again been my go to. Easy set up and the Blackhawk app works well with the system.
Easy to configure & use
I have this unit running in my home. I found it easy to configure. I liked it enough that I had our organization buy one. I find the Ipad app to be useful and stable.
Easy to install / setup
The product is very easy to install and setup the features. The features are user friendly once you work through the process using the user manual.
Very easy to use
I have at least 14 of these systems on my facility. They are very easy to use on the DVR itself and on the viewing program. Most problems I had out of them would be a faulty NIC that was taken care of through RMA with the 3 year warranty, only had about 2 of them do that. NTP support helps these keep consistent time.
Would not buy again
Disappointed with this DVR. Compared to my QSEE DVR, this one is poor on features, instructions, and operation. With email notifications, you have to view a video file rather than just a quick snap shot. This takes to long to look at incidents. Live view on droid phone to many button presses to even view a pic. Would rather go back to QSEE, everything was quick access and easy to use.
Excellent picture qualilty
The quality of the picture is awesome.
good iphone app
i like it comes with a iphone app so if when out working on cameras i just pull them up to look at them.
Own 3 of these DVRs for my businesses. One is an 8 camera DVR. Excellent equipment, easy to use and set up!
As with any camera system backup takes to long.
Easy to hook up
Easy to hook up and utilize for "hard-wire" connection. Haven't attempted the on-line portion yet but anticipate no problems.
