Power over Ethernet (PoE) has quickly become a standard method to supply power to remote IP cameras via the same Ethernet cable you already use to connect to your network. No power is required at the camera location, allowing for greater installation flexibility and the ability to easily supply reliable power from a network closet or server room protected by UPS unit.

This splitter adheres to the 802.3af PoE industry standard and makes almost any camera PoE compatible. It is capable of supplying 14 watts of power to each and every Ethernet port — unlike other splitters that have a global power limitation.

This is not an Ethernet switch or hub. PoE devices reside between the switch and the end destination of the Ethernet cable, providing PoE power on demand. This single port splitter supports the 10/100/1000 Ethernet speed.
